Delivered via a series of user friendly, taught modules and classes, by experienced, professional highland deer stalker Peter Gibbon, the Highland Stalker Course includes and builds on the foundation knowledge provided in the ‘Scotland Module’ of the LANTRA approved ‘Proficient Deer Stalking Certificate Level 1’. Classes in Module 1 include Understanding the Unique Nature of Stalking in Scotland, Safety, Legislation, Deer Species, Extraction and Taking the Shot.
From the foundation skills and knowledge gained in Module 1, the course then launches into detailed information and invaluable insights into subjects such as, how to stay safe and comfortable, etiquette on the ‘hill’, what to wear and what to carry, calibre & rifle selection, whether to take your own firearm. Guidance and advise on taking the shot. Dealing with wind, extended range and shooting at elevation. Common mistakes, how to book your trip, when to travel and many more key tips and useful advice, that will help allay any concerns that you may have and ensure that you get the most from your trip.
Suitable for both beginners, and experienced hunters alike, the Highland Deer Stalking Course is the perfect bolt-on for those with a European Hunting licence, PDS1 or DSC1, or simply for those who wish to get the most from their stay in the Scottish Highlands.
