Ancestrally driven nutrition and lifestyle consultant Francesca: the connection between our primal instincts and our modern lives is undeniable
I am an ancestrally driven nutrition and lifestyle consultant. For me, the connection between our primal instincts and our modern lives is undeniable. Just as every species thrives on a diet specific to its biology, so too do we as humans. It’s a belief deeply rooted in my soul: we must nourish ourselves with foods rich in animal products, just as our ancestors did for millennia.
My journey isn’t just about embracing our ancestral past; it’s about shaping a healthier future. My passion for this lifestyle stems from personal battles, like being born with only half a thyroid, and professional experiences, working with children and adults whose vitality is stifled by the absence of proper nutrition and lifestyle practices.
Through years of dedication and advocacy, I’ve witnessed first-hand the transformative power of embracing nature’s bounty and living in harmony with its rhythms. My own family’s journey to wellness, alongside the countless individuals I’ve had the privilege to guide, stands as a testament to the profound impact of prioritizing nutrition and lifestyle fundamentals.
Join me as I navigate the wilderness of life, armed with a rifle, a keen eye, and a steadfast commitment to empowering others to reclaim their health and vitality. Together, let’s rediscover the age-old wisdom that lies within our ancestral roots and forge a path towards a brighter, healthier tomorrow.
In the vast expanse of the wild, where the echoes of nature resound, I find my sanctuary and purpose. where the art of harvesting our own wild meat intertwines with ancestral wisdom and a fervent dedication to reclaiming health.
What made you think that you want to get into deer stalking yourself?
Embarking on the exhilarating and educational journey of deer stalking wasn’t just a whim; it was a conscious decision rooted in a profound commitment to authentically living out all I teach. As a nutrition and lifestyle consultant, I’ve long talked on the importance of nourishing our bodies with the highest quality, nutrient-dense foods available. And what better way to ensure the highest quality meat graces our table than by pursuing it ourselves through deer stalking and harvesting our own?
Beyond the thrill of the chase and the mastery of marksmanship lies a much deeper motivation: sustainability. In a world where factory farming dominates, wreaking havoc on the environment and compromising the nutritional integrity of our food, deer stalking emerges as a beacon of ethical and ecological responsibility. By harvesting our own meat, we bypass the industrial food complex, reducing our carbon footprint and supporting local ecosystems. So much of my work is helping people to unlearn, we have been victims of mass conditioning. We forgo all common sense at times and line the pockets of pharmaceutical companies, sugar companies, governments, media and more, all continuing to profit off of the nation’s poor health.
But the benefits extend far beyond sustainability. For my family, deer stalking represents a gateway to unparalleled quality and flavour, without the exorbitant price tag often associated with premium meats. By investing time and effort into sourcing our own venison, we relish in the knowledge that every bite nourishes us with the purest, most nutrient-rich protein available and does not come with the huge stress load that financial burdens cause modern family’s every day. One of the biggest misconceptions Is that good nutrition and overall health is only for the wealthy!
Each stalk is not merely a hunt; it’s a celebration of self-sufficiency, a reaffirmation of our connection to the land, and a testament to the transformative power of embracing a lifestyle aligned with nature’s rhythms.

Tell us a bit more about your experience of taking PDS1 online?
Enrolling in the PDS1 online course was a game-changer for me, opening a world of possibilities and insights into the art and science of deer stalking. The convenience of being able to dive into the rich tapestry of knowledge from the comfort of my own home was unparalleled, making the journey towards becoming a proficient deer stalker not just accessible but downright exciting.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the course was its unique learning experience. From comprehensive modules covering everything from deer behaviour, species identification and legal frameworks as well as rifle technique and much more. Each lesson was crafted with precision and care, offering a blend of theoretical understanding and practical application. Whether I was delving into the intricacies of deer anatomy or mastering the art of stalking techniques, the course provided an all-encompassing education that left no stone unturned. Peter delivers each video section with calmness and clarity.
Perhaps the most enticing aspect of the PDS1 online course was the sheer breadth and depth of knowledge it offered. From seasoned hunters to novices alike, there was something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to hone your skills as a seasoned hunter or embarking on your very first foray into the world of deer stalking, the course provides a comprehensive roadmap to success as well as knowledge on why this is also of upmost importance to the deer themselves.
Beyond the technical know-how, the course instilled in me even more so, a profound appreciation for the natural world and the importance of stewardship. It’s not just about bagging a trophy buck; it’s about fostering a deep connection to the land, respecting the animals we pursue, the nutrient rich food source they provide us, and contributing to conservation efforts for future generations.
Which topic did you find most challenging?
In the world of deer stalking, mastering the art of fieldcraft proved to be the most challenging topic for me. Understanding deer behaviours, recognizing signs of their presence, and honing my stalking techniques required patience, practice, and a keen eye for detail. However, with dedication and perseverance, I was able to overcome this challenge and emerge as a more proficient stalker.
Tell us more about how your shooting assessment went? Were you nervous?
Facing my shooting assessment was undoubtedly nerve-wracking, but also exhilarating. As I stepped onto the range, my heart raced with anticipation. Yet, as I focused on my breathing and trusted in my training, my nerves gradually gave way to confidence. Each shot felt like a testament to my dedication and skill, and when the assessment concluded, I walked away with a newfound sense of pride and accomplishment.

Now tell us about your first ever Deer Stalking outing?
My first deer stalking outing was an unforgettable experience, filled with excitement, anticipation, and a touch of apprehension. As I ventured into the wilderness, every rustle of leaves and snap of a twig set my heart racing. Yet, amidst the excitement of it all, the beauty of the still pine forest setting, I wanted to really honour the process I felt a profound sense of connection to nature, as I moved silently through the forest, attuned to its rhythms. Though I may not have harvested my own deer carcass on that first outing, the memory of my first ever stalk will forever hold a special place in my heart.
What are your future plans, when it comes to sourcing your own venison and getting out stalking?
Looking ahead, my future plans revolve around deepening my connection to the land and these ancient practices, sourcing my own venison as regularly as is necessary for my family. I aspire to embark on regular stalking expeditions, honing my skills as a hunter and steward of the environment. Of course my work as a nutrition and lifestyle consultant will continue after the birth of our baby, I am excited to see in what directions, my business - The Kitchen Detox will expand and grow.
My promise to you, is that I will always remain authentic, I will never ever offer fads, weight loss products, shakes or anything else that this industry is unfortunately been infiltrated with. The development of my business will always be an honest offering of a never-ending study of the human body and the pillars of health we must all learn in order to take back control of our health and the health of our family’s for the long-term! My partner Simon and I are also amid navigating the rebuild of our home which is set in the West Sussex woodland. We are lovingly designing this to align with our passion for nature and living off the land as much as possible, we want to ensure this isn’t just the walls around us but a home and a sanctuary.
